Looking Forward in 2021
DeColores Brother and Sister Cusillistas,
It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone and we have just ended the Christmas season and before we know it will be Ash Wednesday. Since the outbreak of the virus our world has changed. The way we do and interact has a different dimension to these days. Thank God as Christians and Cursillistas we have a hope that can't be taken away from us. As with everything else, we as your Secretariat have been meeting and trying to figure out a plan of action on to proceed and move forward in our Diocese.
When I last wrote to you I had talked with Bishop Folda and then as a Secretariat we had decided that because of the coronavirus to hold off having Cursillos for 2021 and planning to have weekends in 2022. In the meantime, I have met with the other Region VI Laydirectors to see how they have been doing things. Sharing what I have learned from them and from our own Secretariat members we have put a plan in place and are working on some things.
First, we are working on updating the weekend manuals with the new appendixes in “Step by Step” ideas on the weekend from our founder Eduardo Bonin. Nothing scary, just a few new stories and some small changes in the schedule. After these are done sometime this Spring we will have Rector/a meetings to get everyone's questions answered.
Also as a way to keep in touch here, we will try to use Zoom more and more. Other Dioceses are doing some Ultreyas and grouping this way. Even National Cursillo is doing some training via Zoom. I know some of you have already grouped this way. Hopefully someday, God willing, we will be able to do things more face to face again.
Deacon Votava and I are also going to try to get a School of Leaders going sometime this next year. (probably via internet).
I will leave you with this for now. Please continue to look to the website (cursillond.org) we plan to keep it updated more regularly, especially during the winter months.
If you feel called to do more, Region VI is looking for service team members. Also our Fargo Diocese Secretariat is short a few members. Please keep us in your prayers. You all are in ours.
May God Bless you all.
Your Brother in Christ
