2021 Cursillo Weekends

2021 Cursillo Weekends

The COVID-19 pandemic has given us trials, tribulations, and opportunities.  For some, there has been a time for prayer and thanksgiving.  For others, a time of grief, loss, and loneliness.  And yet for others adaptation, growth, and hopes for new beginnings.

One thing that is certain as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic is uncertainty.

The Secretariat recognizes that Cursillo weekends are the result of many months of planning and preparations.  In observance of the social distancing guidelines in place at this current time and for an unknown duration, the Secretariat feels being socially responsible for all the individuals, facilities, and candidates present unique challenges to the Cursillo movement.

In consideration of this uncertainty, the Secretariat has come to the difficult decision to suspend Cursillo weekends for the remainder of 2020 and the year 2021.

The suspension of Cursillo weekends for 2020 and 2021 was not an easy decision.  However, this temporary suspension will not stop the Cursillo movement.  Small group reunions are meeting following current health guidelines or have been adapted to utilize other channels such phone or internet meetings.  Virtual Ultreya are just an internet search away.  Even the 2020 National Encounter is scheduled to occur virtually July 24 and 25 (for additional details see www.natl-cursillo.org )  What a great opportunity to participate in a National Encounter from the comfort of your own home.

The Secretariat will continue to meet and plan for the strengthening of the Cursillo movement in the Diocese of Fargo during these times.  Your input, thoughts, and prayers to the Cursillo movement are valuable and welcome.
